It’s a bit late for Happy New Year’s but I’m going to say it anyway….
Happy New Year! 🙂
Well, November, December & January have been really busy months for Sarah Kay Photography both work-wise and family life. Being a hotel photographer in the Lake District, Cumbria, I have been delighted to do lot’s of photography for various local businesses (plus one in Blackburn… not so local but the connection was made here). From caravans, to Christmas cakes, hotels with 30 plus bedrooms to a 3 bedroomed bed & breakfast, I really enjoy all the jobs I do & I genuinely love meeting the people who work at & run these fabulous businesses.
Just before Christmas I had a really fun day working at our local radio station Lakeland Radio. No I wasn’t spinning records… I was doing headshots with the DJ’s & presenters for various uses over the coming year. They really were a great bunch of people and we had a lot of laughs in the process!
Now into my 3rd year trading as Sarah Kay Photography, I continue to be very busy this Winter providing photography services within the hospitality trade. These types of business are renowned for being busier during the Summer and school holidays so they are making the most of me during their quieter periods & getting their hotel & food photography up to date ready for the new year.
In the meantime, my son went to France on a school ski trip which was an amazing opportunity for him but a test of the nerves for me! I was so glad to have him returned to me in one piece after the longest 8 days ever. My daughter has started nursery school and she loves it, which is 3 full days a week which is great- for both of us! Although I do miss her ‘helping’ with the editing & admin!
We always take our family holidays in January and this year we went to Lanzarote, not at all grotty- much to our relief! Although I was away, there is no rest for the wicked as they say so the laptop came along so I could edit & email as I needed to.
Here’s to a great 2014 for all! 🙂
